Ten Things That Decide Whether a Miami Commercial Move Goes Smoothly
- Reserve the freight elevator at both buildings first. In most Miami towers this is the hard constraint everything else is scheduled around, and it books out days ahead.
- Get each building’s COI requirements in week one. Management will not admit a crew without one on file, and the paperwork takes days, not hours.
- Confirm the loading dock height and truck length limit. A dock that cannot take a 26-foot truck changes the entire plan and the price.
- Check the permitted move window. Many Miami buildings allow commercial loading only after 6pm or only on weekends.
- Number every position on a floor plan before anything is packed. Labels that reference a plan beat labels that say “Sales.”
- Have IT disconnect and photograph the back of every machine. Those photos save hours of reconnection guesswork.
- Move servers and network hardware first and separately. Nothing else in the building works until they are live.
- Purge records before the move, not after. Files you do not carry are files you do not pay to carry, crate or re-shelve.
- Name one decision-maker on site. Crews stall when three people give two different answers.
- Watch the season. Between June and November, build a contingency day into the schedule — a storm watch can close a building with no notice.

Can you move us over a weekend so we do not lose a business day?
Yes, and it is how most of our commercial moves are scheduled. Out Friday evening, in over Saturday and Sunday, working Monday morning. There is no weekend or after-hours premium on our flat rate.
How far ahead should we book a commercial move?
Three to four weeks for anything above ten workstations — driven by elevator reservations and insurance paperwork more than by our calendar. Smaller suites and single retail units can often be done inside a week.
Do you provide a certificate of insurance for our building?
Yes. Send us both buildings’ requirements when you book and we will have the COIs issued and on file before move day.
Can you store our furniture between leases?
Yes. If the new space is not ready, we hold the contents and redeliver on your date, priced into the same flat rate rather than billed as a separate storage contract.
Do you handle IT equipment and servers?
Yes — boxed and padded by drop location and moved first so your network comes back up before the furniture lands. We coordinate directly with your IT provider on sequencing.
